This 1920 Craftsman in the heart of Midlothian called for a primary bath that felt worthy of the home's original character.

By removing an adjacent closet and reworking the existing footprint, we created a significantly larger bathroom with room for a generous double vanity, freestanding clawfoot tub and spacious walk-in shower.

Three original doors were salvaged from the attic for the renovation, including two that were repurposed as pocket doors leading into the new bath. Period-appropriate hardware was carefully sourced to complement the original craftsmanship and help the new construction feel authentically connected to the home.

The stained-glass window above the vanity and coordinating transom were custom designed for the project and handcrafted in California, introducing architectural details that feel as though they could have been part of the house for the last century. Rich stained cabinetry, a wood-planked ceiling, marble surfaces, vintage-inspired plumbing and crystal lighting continue that dialogue between old and new.

Every detail was considered through the lens of the home's history—not to recreate the past, but to honor it while giving the homeowners the function and luxury of a modern primary suite.
