A Spa-Inspired Wet Room Designed for Every Phase of Life

They didn’t know it yet, but a spa-inspired wet room was exactly what they needed. We’ll never turn down an opportunity to pitch a wet room- For this aging-in-place couple, an ADA-friendly wet room was the answer to so many of the challenges we were trying to solve. With the vanity located separately from the bathing area, we took the opportunity to tile the room from floor to ceiling, foregoing traditional baseboards and creating one continuous, beautifully finished space.

The shower was intentionally kept simple and accessible, with a fold-down bench, handheld shower on a slide bar, and two strategically placed grab bars that blend so seamlessly into the design, you may not even notice them at first glance.

A 48" linear drain runs along the shower wall, allowing us to create a true zero-entry shower. And because the entire wet room floor is designed to manage water, that linear drain can essentially serve as a floor drain for the whole bathing space.

To keep the room from feeling clinical, we layered natural stone with warm wood tones and matte black fixtures, giving our clients the relaxed, spa-like atmosphere they wanted without sacrificing the accessibility they’ll appreciate for years to come.
